Christmas and New Years

There is something so magical about watching your toddler wake up on Christmas morning.  This year was the first year Finn really understood what Christmas was (at least that there would be presents from Santa and others and he had to wait almost an eternity to open them). I woke up 3 different times to check the clock to see if it was morning and listening for if Finn was awake - I may have been a tad bit excited for him.

When Finn was finally awake, we all went to the living room and there were his presents and gifts from Santa (unwrapped and ready to be played with). Man,  he was stoked!  Finn kept jumping up and down and trying to get out everything he was thinking,  but all he could say coherently was "I'm so excited!" (Me too, kiddo!) Meanwhile Sawyet claimed a purple plastic eggplant as how favorite toy!  It's the simple things,  right?

The whole morning Finn kept saying that he heard Santa in the living room. He told everyone all about it and it really made the magic of Christmas come out!

We spent our snowy Christmas morning at my parent's and had a delicious breakfast at their neighbors. The love and celebration that culminates on Christmas after a month-long buildup is always so special.  Now,  the hard part of explaining that Christmas is once a year and is now over is a bit difficult for Finn to understand.

Testing out Papa's new selfie stick.

On New Years Eve Keaton and I decided to take the boys to the Natural History Museum for their countdown to noon. This was the first time the boys had been to the museum and Finn was not so interested in all of the activities, but was more intrigued exploring the dinosaurs (which Keaton I were both pretty happy about).

No biggie, just lounging in this giant footprint (I feel like I should add that there was a sign that said it was ok to touch )

2016 goal:  Up our family usie game!

We didn't get to see the celebration at noon as we had the kids discovery section almost all to ourselves. It was absolutely perfect.
